Intro to Stress & Anxiety Management

Most of us know firsthand how stress and anxiety impacts our health and interferes with the joy of living. The Center for Disease Control reports that stress is a contributing factor in all major diseases and 75-90% of all doctor’s office visits are for stress-related ailments and complaints. Stress often plays a part in problems such as headaches, high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, depression, and anxiety.
Learn more about stress, your nervous system and how you can interfere with the stress response and live a more satisfying and healthy life. Stress and Anxiety Management presents the science of stress and introduces a spectrum of self-regulating tools including breath work, deep relaxation, movement, and nutrition. Participants will be asked to follow a weekly take-home program with daily exercises and lifestyle suggestions. Change your relationship to stress and anxiety forever!

Overcome Anxiety: A Natural and Holistic Approach

This yoga therapy series is designed for those that suffer from chronic stress, anxiety; GAD, Panic Disorder, PTSD. Explore self-healing modalities which are effective and profoundly liberating when combating the debilitating effects of anxiety. Learn breath work, meditation and gentle movement techniques that help to break the psychological, biochemical, and physical cycles that keep anxiety in your life, and to eventually overcome anxiety. A presentation of what happens in your mind and body while experiencing anxiety, and tools to “turn off” the fight or flight response, and “turn on” the relaxation response will be taught in the first class. A take-home program with daily exercises and lifestyle practices will be suggested. The more you know about anxiety and learn the tools to regulate it, the more empowered you become to create your own self-healing journey.
Overcome Anxiety (OAnx) is a national program created with evidence-informed protocol. OAnx is currently in a research study through the University of North Carolina headed by a researcher from Polyvagal Nerve Theory Institute. There are 90+ facilitators around the US, Mexico, Canada and France offering the work in various forms.

Yoga for Anxiety is a specially designed yoga program for people (ages 18 and older) who would like to try yoga as a way to manage their stress and anxiety. You don’t have to be flexible! The program involves a combination of breath practices, postures and somatic movements, and mindfulness exercises. The emphasis is on becoming aware of the breath and creating a natural rhythm between tension and relaxation that, with practice, establishes a vital connection with our bodies. The approach is simple, very accessible and easy to follow. There will be no partner work or hands-on adjustments. Every effort is made to ensure that each student has a very private experience within the group setting.

Above all else, the breath is the most accurate marker for how we are living our life. Many of us are chronically tense, irritable, lack energy, experience insomnia, stomach upset and headaches. Could a possible solution be as simple as breathing better? Many experts think yes! Come learn more about your most intimate partner–your breath. Part presentation, part experiential, you will learn the anatomy of breath so you will understand the mechanics of breathing and explore common breath patterns. We will focus on the main breathing muscles and areas in the body that, when constricted, diminish the range and depth of breath. You will be guided through a series of postures designed to open and free breathing. If you take one workshop all year, let this be the one. Not to be missed.

This is the program that will change the way you relate to, look at and prepare food forever.
